Knights defeat Wayne Trace in v-ball

It took four games, but the Crestview varsity volleyball team finally defeated the scrappy Wayne Trace Lady Raiders in a non-conference match played Thursday. Game scores were 25-19, 19-25, 25-20 and 25-15.

Individual stats are as follows:

• Serving – Haley Helm, 19/19 with three aces; Maci Baker, 18/18 with two aces; Tianna Rager, 13/14; Claire Zaleski, 11/11; Brady Guest, three aces.
• Hitting – Helm, 19 kills; Zaleski, eight kills; Guest, seven kills.
• Setting – Guest and Abigail Bagley, 15 assists each.
• Digs – Rager, 18 digs.

The Crestview junior varsity squad also won in three games. Both teams are now 3-1 on the year.

The Knights will be back in action Monday as they travel to Rockford to play the Parkway Panthers. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
