Betty Butler

On Thursday, September 17, 2015, heaven received a beautiful angel in the passing of Betty Butler. Betty, 82, of Delphos, died at 3:20 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born May 29, 1933, in Delphos, to Lloyd and Leona (Purdy) Butler, who both preceded her in death.

She is survived by six sisters, Marilyn Butler, Phyllis (Ira) Beair and Sue (Art) Haehn, all of Delphos, Carol Barnhart of Van Wert, Darlene (Jerry) Howard and Beverly (Russell) Agner, both of Oakwood. She is also survived by a stepsister, Eileen (Walter) Byrne of Delphos; two brothers, Don (Ima) Butler and Lloyd (Barbara) Butler, both of Continental.

A sister, Patty Butler; one nephew, Michael Beair; and a brother-in-law, James Barnhart, also preceded her in death.

Betty had worked at Myers Cleaners and then at Van Dyne Crotty for many years. She was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, Class of 1951. Betty was a very kindhearted, loving sister who loved her family dearly. She loved the outdoors, working in her flower garden and mowing her lawn. Betty was a very special caring person, who helped everyone and will be dearly missed by her family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 21, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, September 20, at the funeral home.
