VW golfers 13th at Defiance tournament

DEFIANCE — The Van Wert Cougar golf team returned to action on Monday at Eagle Rock Country Club in Defiance, with the Van Wert linksters placing 13th out of 17 teams.

Jared Hernandez led the Cougars with a fine 89, followed by Jacob Covey, who carded a 92. Carter Eikenbary followed with a 104, Colten Deschner had a 108 and Nathan Bidlack a 150. The team continues to improve on the early season, as it shot 35 shots better than it did at Fostoria.

This is a busy week for the Cougars as they head to Kalida for an invitational today and to Greenville for a third invitational for the week on Thursday.
