Van Wert golfers defeated by Wildcats

In a battle of the felines, the Van Wert Cougar golf team took on the Kenton Wildcats at Willow Bend Country Club Thursday evening, with the Cougars losing the battle by score of 196-169.

Match medalist honors went to Kenton’s Luke Nichols, who carded a 40. Runner-up medalist was Van Wert’s Jared Hernandez, who clawed his way to a 41.

Adding to the Van Wert score was Carter Eikenbary, who tallied a 50, while Jacob Covey had a 52 and Colton Deschner a 53. Nathan Bidlack also participated for the Cougars.

The Cougars will be on the road next week as they take on St. Marys on Monday at Northmoor Golf Course.
