Van Wert Area Photography Club members and guests gathered Thursday, Aug. 13, to view a variety of photos they had taken of recent events around Van Wert.  Each person was invited to bring their three best shots of each event on a flash drive for projection and discussion.  Subjects included: The Downtown Shoot, Area Flooding, and the Rib Fest. There were many shots that sparked favorable comments.

Guest Dave Shaner of St. Marys also shared some impressive pictures he’d taken at the zoo, the Dayton Air Show, and storms.

In the business portion, Treasurer Karl Gribler reported on the club’s financial condition and the fact that a $50 memorial had been given in the name of Jack Trinosky.  A sign up sheet was passed around for workers to assist in receiving pictures for the fair’s Photography Exhibit on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 1-5 and to assist with the judging of the photos on Monday, Aug. 31, starting at 6 p.m., as well as hosting the exhibit during the fair.

Following the meeting the group adjourned to Woodland Cemetery for a photo shoot.

The club’s next meeting will be after the fair at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 114 S. Race St.
