Sheriff seeking info on golf club break-in

Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach is seeking information on a break-in that occurred at the Hickory Sticks Golf Club on U.S. 127 south of Van Wert.

Sheriff Riggenbach stated that, sometime between the hours of 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and 7 a.m. Sunday, July 12, an unknown person or persons broke into Hickory Sticks Golf Club. Once inside, a safe was damaged and an undisclosed amount of money was removed from the building. Sheriff Riggenbach advised that crime scene investigators from the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to process the scene.

Sheriff Riggenbach said agents from BCI collected evidence at the scene and took it to the BCI crime lab for analysis. The sheriff is asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the hours prior to and during the timeframe listed above contact the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office.  He is also asking anyone with information about the break-in contact the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office.
