Bridge replacement

Construction on the Harner Road bridge over the St. Marys River continued Tuesday as crews from Ohio Bridge were busy setting the steel structure onto the bridge footers. The old bridge, constructed in the early 1960s, was in poor condition and in need of replacement. The new bridge, which features an asphalt-covered steel deck, is wider and will rest higher above the river than the previous structure. (photos by Bob Barnes/Van Wert independent)
