William A. Lee

William A. Lee of Van Wert died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Kobacker House in Columbus.

He was born June 28, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Ralph and Rita (Mahlan) Lee, who both preceded him in death. On October 10, 1970, he married Martha (Bender) Lee, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include three children, Eric (Karen) Lee of Delaware (Ohio), Kendra (Matt) Schnelle of Canal Winchester and Michelle (Brent) Goetz of Toledo; a sister, Sue Hammond of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren, Owen Schnelle, Lauren Goetz, Evelyn Schnelle and June Lee.

A brother, Ronald Lee, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Lee retired from Consolidated Freight Ways in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and Elks Lodge 1197, all in Van Wert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
