Public invited to attend presentation

The Van Wert Area Photography Club’s next meeting is on May 14, 7 p.m. at 114 S. Race St.  The club is especially encouraging the public as well as members to attend a free presentation.  Regardless of your skill level in using a camera, you are bound to gain something from this program, provided by longtime member Jan Sorensen.

Jan visited Alaska with her sister not too long ago.  In addition to making a lot of memories and taking some impressive pictures (some of which she will show during the program) she acquired a DVD titled, “Grab Your Camera and Step Into Alaska.”

The DVD includes a 32-minute tutorial segment done by Brandon Hauser.  It is divided into five sections covering The Fundamentals of Photography, Composition, Camera Controls, Setting and Use of Shutter Speeds and Setting and Use of Aperture.  Each section is liberally illustrated with Alaska pictures to help make each sub point more understandable.

Jan asks that everyone bring their cameras and owners’ manuals so that information in the video can be put into practice.

Rex Dolby, Karl Gribler, Randy Shellenbarger and Mike and Candy Taylor met with Theatre president Linda McClure on Monday afternoon regarding displaying their photographs for sale in the basement during all the performances of Clue. Be sure to check them out if you attend the play.  The pictures will be removed and be available to buyers after the last performance.
