Jayne E. Custer

Jayne E. Custer, 92, of Rockford, died at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, in Geneva, Indiana, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 31, 1923, in Van Wert, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann (Davies) Jones, who both preceded her in death. On December 5, 1948, she married James Oscar Custer, who preceded her in death on April 5, 1977.

Survivors include four children, Cheryl Arnold of Leo, Indiana, Cindy (Stan) Minnich of Geneva, Indiana, Tom (Kathy) Custer of Marysville and Steve (Marianne) Custer of Ostrander; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, David and John Jones; and a sister, Elizabeth Jones, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with the Revs. Emily J. and James Compton officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
