Free program on photography fundamentals

The community is reminded that the Van Wert Area Photography Club is offering — at no charge — a special presentation by Jan Sorensen on photography fundamentals.  This event takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at 114 S. Race St.  Jan purchased a DVD on her recent trip to Alaska, which includes a tutorial segment liberally sprinkled with pictures of Alaska that illustrate the point being explained. That part of the DVD will be a major part of her presentation.

VWAPC officers took their newly approved By-Laws to Attorney Todd Wolfrum to see if there was any conflicts with state or federal laws.  Wolfrum reported that actually there was a weakness.  The document did not provide for a Board of Directors to oversee the club’s activities.  He provided the club with the necessary verbiage which the officers used a guide to add that section to the By-Laws. Thursday evening members will be asked to approve the new addition, which should make a trip to the printers the next step.

Rex Dolby, Randy Shellenbarger, and Mike Taylor have photos on display in the basement of the Van Wert Civic Theatre through the last performance of Clue. The pictures cover a wide range of subjects and anyone interested in purchasing a photo should contact the photographer directly.
