Baseball Roundup: Local teams victorious

All three Van Wert County baseball teams got wins in games played Friday.

Van Wert was a 2-0 winner over Delphos Jefferson behind the 2-hit pitching of Josh Braun during a non-conference game on Friday.

The Cougars got both of their runs on bases-loaded walks.

The Crestview Knights had only one hit, but still managed to eke out a 2-1 victory over Wayne Trace in a non-conference game on Friday. The Knights are now 12-4 after winning their 12th in a row, while the Raiders fall to 2-16.

Lincolnview’s Lancer baseball team outslugged Ada, winning 9-8 over the Bulldogs in a Northwest Conference match-up. Chayten Overholt was the big gun for the Lancers, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, while Derek Youtsey was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
