Arnold DeLeon

Arnold “Ernie” DeLeon, 45, of Convoy, died at 3:28 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, in Decatur, Indiana.

He was born June 25, 1969, in Van Wert, the son of Arnulfo DeLeon, who preceded him in death, and Marie (Alvarez) DeLeon, who survives.

Survivors include two children, Ashleigh DeLeon of Middle Point and Emilio DeLeon of Convoy; three sisters, Aida Shoemaker of Van Wert, Alicia Voors of Convoy and Alma Ladd of Van Wert; and his fiancee, Becky Markins of Convoy.

A brother-in-law, Mark Ladd, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. Ernie’s family requests that everyone dress casual for the funeral, and in Chicago Bears or Ohio State attire.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at the funeral home.
