Man who died in U.S. 224 crash identified

A Tennessee resident who died in an accident on U.S. 224 Friday afternoon has been identified.

The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office stated that Stanley E. Harrington, 48, of Dickson, Tennessee, was the man who died in the accident, which occurred at approximately 1:30 Friday afternoon.

fatal car crash artwork 2-2012According to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, Harrington was killed when the utility truck he was driving went off the highway, hit a telephone pole and overturned.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, Harrington was ejected from the rented bucket truck leased by Thompson Electric, and was declared dead at the scene by Van Wert County Coroner Dr. Scott Jarvis.

Assisting at the accident scene on U.S. 224, just northeast of Van Wert, were the Scott and Van Wert fire departments, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Brickners Funeral Home in Van Wert.

The accident remains under investigation.
