MSVW sets Downtown Chocolate Walk

Main Street Van Wert information

Area residents’ next visit downtown might be a little bit sweeter. The Main Street Van Wert Merchant Committee has announced a Downtown Chocolate Walk that will take place Friday evening, February 6. Participating businesses will be open for the event from 4-8 p.m. Tickets are $15 each or $25 for a pair, and must be purchased or reserved in advance.

The day of the event, “chocolate walkers” will begin at the Main Street Van Wert office to pick up a special chocolate bag and map. They can then relax and savor the evening while strolling at their leisure through the participating businesses downtown. Show tickets at each “chocolate stop” on the map to sample or collect a chocolate treat.

A full list of participating businesses will be announced a week before the Chocolate Walk. Ticket holders will visit businesses they are familiar with — and also learn about ones they may not know.

“What a fun way to visit someplace new or get reacquainted with the stores and offices downtown,” said Main Street Van Wert Program Manager Adam Ries.

Postcards will be available to create a Valentine’s Day wish list while visiting stores that evening, which Main Street Van Wert will mail to any address a ticket holder selects.

Grab friends or invite someone special and enjoy this excursion through downtown Van Wert. Main Street supporting partners may call and make advance ticket reservations this week. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 16. A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased in person at the Main Street Van Wert office, 136 E. Main St., or Truly D’vine Bread Company, 117 W. Main St. Tickets may also be reserved over the phone. Purchase limit of four tickets per person.
