Frances Marie Miller, 90, went to be with her Heavenly Father at 7:50 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born October 1, 1924, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Clyde and Ernesteen Parks, who both preceded her in death. On January 13, 1943, in Mineral Wells, she married Donald E. Miller. They were married 71 years before Donald preceded her in death on September 16, 2014.

Survivors include her twin sister, Loree Norris of Weatherford, Texas; one son, Harold (Paula) Miller; a daughter, Sharon (Tom) Sass; three granddaughters, Tiffany (Trevor) McKinney, Dawn Gerber and Holly Sass; one grandson, Sean Wagner; six great-grandchildren; two nephews, Harry Fryer Jr. and Jerry (Marilynn) Fryer; and a niece, Jane (Terry) Ellis.

Two sisters and two brothers, and two great-grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Marie graduated from Santo High School in Santo, Texas. Marie was a 70-year member of First Baptist Church in Van Wert and retired from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert after 22 years of employment.

She was a faithful caretaker of her ailing husband, Donald, until 2006, when he was admitted to Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She also met monthly with many of her retiree friends at local restaurants.

Marie was a very compassionate, caring and lovely Christian lady, who truly lived out her faith. She loved her family and friends dearly. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, at First Baptist Church, 13887 Jennings Road in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 11, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials: First Baptist Church, Vancrest Health Care Center Activities Department or Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
