Buckeye Youth announces Fun Day

Buckeye Youth information

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. will be hosting a Fun Day at the YWCA on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 19.  The event will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the YWCA, 408 E. Main St. in Van Wert. This fun “no school day” event is open to all area children 5 to 12 years old.

Buckeye Youth has scheduled many interesting activities, including a special program from Jim Bowsher, who will display and talk about artifacts and archeology. In addition, there will be swimming, playing games and making crafts. Two snacks will be provided. Each child should bring a swimsuit, towel and a sack lunch.

The cost is $10 for Buckeye Youth and YWCA members and $12.00 for non-members. Each additional sibling is $3 off. There will be teen supervision from Buckeye Youth members, area high school service club members, as well as Buckeye Youth staff and adult volunteers for the day.

Registration and payment are preferred by Friday, January 16, at the Buckeye Youth office, 147 E. Main St., Suite D, in Van Wert (at the northwest corner of Market and Main streets, second door on Market Street). To call in a pre-registration, dial 419.238.3546 and leave a phone number, the child’s name, age and time of arrival.

Registration forms will be given out through area schools and are also available outside the Buckeye Youth office door. Return to the Buckeye Youth office, with payment. The office will be open January 12-16 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 5 and 7:30 p.m., or place permission slips under the office door.

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. is a United Way agency and a Van Wert County Foundation grant recipient.
