Dorothy Esther Burtch

Dorothy Esther “Dot” Burtch, 82, of Rockford, died at 11:56 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born November 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Connie E. (Felver) Levihn. On July 17, 1954, she married Thomas E. Burtch, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include a daughter, Susie Christman of Huntertown, Indiana; five sons, Tom (Lori) Burtch, Ed (Misty) Burch and Mike (Melissa) Burtch, all of Rockford, John (Tina) Burtch of Westerville, and Robert (Cheryl) Burtch of Minster; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Robert and Herbert Levihn; one sister, Margaret Levihn; and a son-in-law, Dan Christman, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, at New Horizons Community Church in Rockford, with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Grazma officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, September 15, and an hour prior to services Tuesday, all at the church.

Preferred memorials: Wernle Children’s Home in Richmond, Indiana, or the American Red Cross in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
