Primary election ballot has only 1 contest

County Election Board information

The May 6 primary election ballot has been released by the Van Wert County Board of Elections.

According to ballot information, none of the three incumbent county officeholders up for election will have primary opposition.

Those seeking re-election include Van Wert County Commissioner Thad Lichtensteiger and Probate-Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Taylor, both Republicans, and County Auditor Nancy Dixon, a Democrat.

In fact, the only primary contest is for the York Township seat on the Republican Central Committee. Both Scott Miller and Brian O’Neill are seeking that position.
