L’view Junior High track teams shine

The Lincolnview chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting our annual dodge ball tournament on Saturday April 9 beginning at 4 p.m.  All proceeds  go to the Van Wert County chapter of the American Red Cross. This year’s tournament will be double elimination with free t-shirts going to the winning team in each division. To make things more fun and fair we will have three divisions broken down as follows: 9th grade-adult, 6th grade-8th grade, and K-5th grade. Each team must have 6 members on the court at each time, but a team can enter up to 8 players. Each team will owe $5 per player during pre-registration, $6 after. Pre-registration forms are due back to Anna Battle by April 6. All forms received need to be turned in with payment or they will not be accepted. Registration will be accepted up until 3:30 p.m. on April 9.

Congratulations to the Boys’ and Girls’ Junior High Track teams as they performed very well in their first meet of the year against Bluffton last Thursday, March 31. Results were as follows:

First place finishers for the girls included: Bowersock, Gorman, Gorman, and McCleery, 4×100 relay team; Marcy Shoppell, discus; Ashton Bowersock, 800 meter run; Sarah Cowling, long jump; Claire Clay, 100 & 200 meter hurdles; Brooke Schroeder, shot put; and Hannah McCleery, mile and high jump.

Second place finishers for boys & girls: Marcy Shoppell, shot put; Grace Gorman, 110 hurdles; Anna Gorman, 400 meter run; Gorman, Clay, Schroeder, & Bigham, 4×100 relay team; Logan Jewel, 100 & 200 meter dash; Hunter Blankemeyer, 110 & 200 meter hurdles; Alex Rodriguez, mile; Jacob Pollock, discus & shot put; Diller, Norton, McMaster & Jewel, 4×200 relay team; and Norton, Tow,

Rodriguez, and Whitaker, 4×400 relay team.

Third place finishers: Savannah Bigham, long jump & 100 meter dash; Mackenzie Strite, shot put; Jarrett Dye, shot put & discus; Hunter Blankemeyer, high jump; Brandon Reynolds, 200 meter dash; Skyler Whitaker, long jump; James Smith, 110 & 200 hurdles; Hayden Ludwig, 400 meter dash; Damon Norton, 100 meter dash, and Cory Miller and Alex Rodriguez, pole vault.

The next junior high track meet is Saturday at Parkway. The meet begins at 9 a.m.
