VW area nurses award 3 scholarships

The Van Wert Area Nurses Association Officers met on June 20 at the Black Angus Restaurant to award three scholarships.

First recipient of a $750 scholarship was Kelly Twigg of Rockford. Twigg is an Registered Nurse and works in Van Wert Health’s emergency room. She attends Indiana Wesleyan College and is working toward becoming a family nurse practitioner.

The second $750 scholarship was given to Staci Yenser of Middle Point. Yenser is a paramedic and also worked in the Van Wert Health emergency room. She is obtaining her RN degree from Excelsior College in New York.

Harold Kuhbander from Van Wert received a $500 scholarship. Kuhbander works at Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital in Van Wert. He is a LPN and is attending Rhodes State College in Lima working towards his associate’s degree as a RN.
