Free throws lift Crestview past Antwerp

ANTWERP — Paige Motycka and Lyvia Black combined for 32 points to lead the Crestview Lady Knights to 42-38 win at Antwerp on Tuesday night.

The two teams found themselves tied at 10 at the end of the first quarter and the Lady Archers enjoyed a 23-17 halftime advantage. Crestview pulled to within four (30-26) after three quarters, then the Lady Knights outscored the hosts 16-8 in the final period. 14 of Crestview’s 16 points were from the foul line.

Motycka, who finished the game with 19 points and Black, who finished with 13, each hit seven foul shots in the fourth quarter. Olivia Cunningham accounted for Crestview’s only basket of the quarter.

The Lady Knights finished the game 24 of 28 (86 percent) from the free throw line.

Heather Oberlin and Tiera Gomez each scored 10 points to lead Antwerp.

Crestview (11-6) has won five straight and will host Lincolnview on Thursday night, while Antwerp (8-8) will host Holgate.
