Randall L. Tobias

Randall L. Tobias, 60, of Van Wert, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Van Wert Manor nursing home.

He was born February 19, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Marilyn (Tobias) Donley, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include his stepfather, Don Donley of Van Wert; a sister, Becky (Dean) Good of Van Wert; and three nieces, Amy Koontz, Angie Laker and Alissa Ede.

Mr. Tobias was a certified phlebotomist and had previously worked at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert. He was a member of Jennings Road Church of Christ in Van Wert.

He enjoyed sharing with friends on Facebook and helping fellow residents at Homestead Village in Van Wert. He was a 1973 graduate of Van Wert High School and had attended Bowling Green State University and The Ohio State University.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. David Ray officiating.

Calling hours are from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert County Relay for Life or a charity of donor’s choice.
