Part-day preschool centers in Van Wert County are located in Van Wert. If learning at home is more convenient for a child and family, Head Start also includes a home base program with staff visiting families weekly and periodic group experiences for the children and families.

Head Start preschool centers have teachers with degrees and there is an early childhood program in Van Wert County that is recognized in Ohio’s “Step Up to Quality” program with a 4-star award for quality from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

To apply, call 866.627.4557 and talk with Head Start local staff to get the application process started.

The Council on Rural Services provides education, support, and volunteer services through Kids Learning Place™, Head Start, and Early Head Start, in its nine-county service area.  Also, check the Council’s website www.kidslearningplace.org or “like” its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/kidslearningplace.
