Raymond A. ‘Bud’ Etgen

Raymond A. “Bud” Etgen died at 9:56 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born May 19, 1965, in Van Wert, the son of Raymond Etgen, who survives in rural Van Wert, and the late Phyllis “Sue” Etgen.

Other survivors include his grandmother, Sara Kanable; three uncles and aunts, Jim (Rachel) Kanable, Paul Allen (Bernie) Griffey and Larry (Tonya) Etgen; and close cousins Jodie Spears, Lindi Coil, Dolly Bloodhart and many other cousins. A close friend, Tammy Barr, also survives him.

A brother, David Etgen, also preceded him in death.

Bud drove trucks as his occupation and enjoyed deer hunting for sport. He was also a member of Sons of Amvets Post 698 in Middle Point.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 30, at the funeral home.
