Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, has announced the awarding of a $1,000 Educational Fund Grant by the Ohio Elks Association to Shae Friemoth. Educational Fund Grants, which are awarded by the Ohio Elks Association, are made possible by monies provided by the Elks National Foundation.

Friemoth graduated in 2013 from Van Wert High School. She is attending Rhodes State College and will be transferring this fall to Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, Indiana, majoring in interior design.

During high school, Friemoth was a cheerleader and was in art. She was involved in Van Wert All Star Cheerleading, Bunny Hoppers 4-H Club and competition dance at Kim Hohman’s DanceWorks.

Friemoth attends St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is only second to the United States Government in the number of scholarships awarded each year. Van Wert Elks Lodge is proud to have been a sponsor for Friemoth during the competition.
