2 appear Wed. in Common Pleas Court

Two people appeared Wednesday for hearings in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

Cai Evans, 20, of Van Wert, received a three-year community control sentence, with up to six months at the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima, on a charge of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony offense.

Van Wert County Probate-Juvenile Judge Kevin Taylor, who heard the cases in the absence of Judge Charles D. Steele, also ordered that Evans’ driver’s license be suspended for six months.

Also Wednesday, Larry D. Brincefield, 51, of Delphos, pleaded guilty through a prosecutor’s bill of information to a charge of domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

He was released on a personal surety bond and sentencing scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m.
