Wren Christmas Society sets fundraiser

WREN — The Wren Christmas Society is selling tickets for chicken dinners to be distributed on Saturday, October 19.  Gibson’s Barnyard BBQ will prepare the food, which will include half of a chicken, baked beans, cheesy potatoes and cole slaw. Meals are sold on a pre-sale basis only.

Tickets are $8 each and are available for purchase now from any Wren Christmas Society member.

Dinners will be available for pick-up at the WCS building at the Wren Ballpark on October 19, between 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The money raised will be used to pay for the electricity used to power the Christmas lights this holiday season.

In other WCS news, Christmas decorations will be put up in Wren on Saturday, November 16, and the official lighting ceremony will be held after Thanksgiving.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Wren on Saturday, December 14, and Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
