Heart Land Patriots set Candidates’ Night

The Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots’ October meeting will be held Tuesday, October 8, at 7 p.m., in the Fireside Room of Trinity Friends Church, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.

With early voting beginning soon for the November general election, the Patriots will offer all Van Wert city residents the opportunity to see and hear from each of their City Council candidates.

Candidates for both contested and uncontested offices have been invited to appear in a candidates’ forum, sharing both their “stump speeches”, as well as giving city residents the opportunity to ask questions about the most important issues facing the voters as the election approaches.

Many questions apparently remain in the minds of voters concerning the Aquatic Center issue and its tax levy on all Van Wert city taxpayers. The candidates’ forum is the ideal venue for City Council members to supply information to ease voters’ apprehensions.

In addition to election issues, City Council members can share with those in attendance any critical issues that face the current Council as the calendar year rapidly approaches its completion.
