Council sets special meeting on levy

A special meeting of Van Wert City Council is being scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday, February 1.  A meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee is also being scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m.

The purpose of the committee meeting is to review and discuss the ballot language contained in the recently enacted Resolution 12-12-076. Resolution 12-12-076 declares it necessary to levy a tax in excess of the 10-mill limitation in the amount of 1.2 mills.  Proceeds from the levy would fund construction of a new aquatic center in Van Wert.

The special meeting of City Council is being scheduled to consider decisions made by the committee affecting the resolution.

The committee and special meetings are being held in Council Chambers, located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 515 E. Main St. in Van Wert.
