Flo Gallaway

Flo Gallaway, 95, of Van Wert, died at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

She was born December 7, 1916, in Scott, the daughter of the late Moran and Emma (Jenkins) Williamson. On September 5, 1936, she married M. Carl Gallaway, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1975.

Mrs. Gallaway retired as an assistant house mother at The Marsh Foundation in Van Wert after more than 40 years of service. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

Survivors include four children, William C. (Jeanne) Gallaway, Richard (Julia) Gallaway and Marjorie (Dennis) Linser, all of Van Wert, and Jerry (Sandra) Gallaway of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Leo (Sue) Williamson of Byesville; one sister, Rea Stripe of Van Wert; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two brothers, Joy and Von Williamson; and two sisters, Gay Huey and Ilo Mozingo, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
