Lancer runners compete in regional meet

TIFFIN — The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed in the Division III regional meet this past weekend.  The boys’ team ran in the Tiffin meet and placed 13th as a team.

The Lancer boys were led by Jeff Jacomet, who placed 56th.  He was followed by Ben Bilimek (59th), Alex Rodriguez (72nd), Austin Treesh (83rd), and Lucas Myer (90th).

“The boys ran well today,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “This was a new experience for all seven of the boys, and, overall, they responded.

“Now that they have this experience to draw from, we can use it to springboard into the track season and next summer for cross country,” he added. “They have had an amazing season and I am very proud of how far they have come this season.”

Kerri Grothaus competed for the girls at the Troy regional meet and placed 63rd, running a 21:47.

“Kerri had a great season and it was very rewarding to see her run her last race at the regional meet,” Coach Langdon noted. “She ran well and we are all very proud of her and the season that she had.”
