VW man arrested for Kalida bank robbery

KALIDA — A Van Wert man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Kalida bank this past Thursday.

Kalida Police Chief James Gulker stated that Korrey R. Kemp, 24, was arrested Friday night in Fort Wayne, Ind., on a warrant issued by his department in connection with the robbery of the Huntington Bank branch in that village on February 24.

The warrant was obtained after investigators received information connecting Kemp with the robbery and he was arrested at approximately 11:3o p.m. Friday by officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department at a motel in that city.

Kemp remains in custody in Fort Wayne and is expected to be charged with robbery when returned to Putnam County.

An investigation into the robbery by the Kalida Police and Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is currently ongoing.
