The Van Wert Chapter of the American Association of University Women has announced another in its popular Sister-to-Sister Summits, to be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the YWCA of Van Wert County. The event is for girls in grades 6-8.

The Sister-to-Sister Summit is a free and fun program that includes great food, workshops, goodie bags and door prizes. It’s also a great way to meet new friends and learn something along the way.

This year’s theme is “Just Believe – Stepping Stones to Becoming a More Effective Leader” and there a number of presentations and informational sessions adhering to that theme.

Among the presentations this year are the following:

  • “Looking for Your Leadership Potential,” by Megan Ramey and Kelda Heitkamp, who represent Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.
  • “Strength and Cardio Fitness,” by Trisha Breese, YWCA personal trainer/fitness instructor.
  • “Managing Life’s Difficult Moments” by Cheryl Gasser, a licensed social worker with Community Health Professionals.
  • “Watching Your Health Habits” by Renette Riethman, R.N., diabetic educator at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
  • “Goal-Setting Strategies” by Tonia Verville, Lincolnview guidance counselor and counselor at Westwood Behavioral Health Center.
