HARROD — Three Lincolnview pitchers combined to hold Allen East to just three hits, and the Lancers topped the Mustangs 9-0 on Thursday.

Jaden Youtsey pitched the first two innings and struck out three. Collin Overholt tossed four innings and allowed one hit while striking out four, and Thad Walker pitched the remaining inning and gave up two hits while fanning one.

“We pitched it well and had a lot of ground ball outs,” Lincolnview head coach Eric Fishpaw said. “Creed Jessee, Gavin Carter and Braxton Fox all had several put outs in our infield to first baseman Ethan Kemler.”

At the plate, Carter had two hits and two RBIs, while Jessee and Landon Price had two hits and one RBI apiece.

The Lancers (14-2, 4-0 NWC) jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, with Youtsey doubling in Overholt for the first run, followed by a Jessee single that drove in Youtsey. A double by Carter scored Jessee and Brayden Evans, then Price singled home Carter. Price stole home to account for the final run of the inning.

“We came out aggressive in the first inning, putting up six runs,” Fishpaw said. “That set the tone for the rest of the game.”

After a scoreless second inning, Cole Binkley scored on a third inning grounder by Walker, then the Lancers scored twice in the fourth inning. An RBI double by Kemler plated Jessee, then Kemler scored on a single by Evans.

“I thought Gavin and Ethan had really good at bats for us tonight, and they continue to hit the ball hard,” Fishpaw said.

“Everyone competed tonight – our JV didn’t play and we were able to get 17 guys into the game,” Fishpaw added. “It was a good experience for some younger guys to compete in a conference game, and it was good to get some guys some rest heading into a big week ahead. Overall, a good performance from our program as a whole.”

Lincolnview is scheduled to host Fairview on Saturday.
