FORT RECOVERY — The Crestview Knights won Thursday’s Fort Recovery Quad, finishing ahead of three MAC schools.

The Knights finished with 92 team points, followed by Fort Recovery (70), St. Henry (42) and New Knoxville (23).

“Thursday’s weather pattern did not choose to play nice for us or anyone else in Fort Recovery on Thursday, although I am very pleased that we were able to get this meet in before the Easter holiday break,” Crestview head coach James Lautzenheiser said. “Despite the wind and rain, we had some individuals and relays that were able to turn out some consistent marks and times, and we even had a few personal records on the night.”

First place finishers for Crestview were Josiah Beck (300 meter hurdles, 46.81); Robbie Gonzalez (discus, 117-06); the 4×200 meter relay team of Darrin Nihiser, Jordan Perrott, Wade Sheets and Caylib Pruett (1:37.17), and the 4×400 meter relay team of Jordan Updegrove, Breck Rumschlag, Beck and Hayden Tomlinson (3:37.94).

Sheets finished second in the 100 and 200 meter dash (11.95 and 24.33), while Pruett was the runner up in the 400 meter run (55.54). Dayton Schuerman posted a second place finish in the 800 and 1600 meter run (2:31.65 and 5:18.03), and Updegrove finished second in the 110 meter hurdles (18.46). The 4×100 meter relay team of Nihiser, Perrott, Pruett and Sheets also finished second with a time of 46.13.

“After a long week of state-testing, some tough practices, and then the torrential rains, our students needed to compete against some MAC schools before we took Friday-Sunday off,” Lautzenheiser said. “We still have some nagging injuries and occasional absences due to other connected extracurricular activities and events, but we are close to rounding out our tournament lineups for May.”

The Lady Knights finished fourth with 35 points, behind Fort Recovery (87), New Knoxville (82) and St. Henry (36).

MacKenzie Leeth won the 100 meter dash in 14.21, and Ragen Harting finished second in the 1600 meter run (6:03.69). Also finishing second – the 4×100 meter relay team of Emily Brower, Leeth, Nevaeh Pruett and Chloee Case (57.11).

Crestview will return to action Tuesday at the Van Wert County Meet.

” Tuesday’s showdown in Van Wert with the Cougars and Lancers looks to be an excellent test for us at just the right time,” Lautzenheiser said.
