YWCA to host Christmas-themed yoga

The YWCA of Van Wert County will be hosting a session of Christmas-themed yoga classed on Wednesday, December 19, starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Those wanting to participate should register by calling 419.238.6639 or emailing jmcclain@ywcavanwertcounty.org.

“We are excited to offer this event during the holiday season as the perfect way for one to calm their body and mind from all the busyness of this time of year,” stated YWCA Health and Wellness Coordinator J.J. McClain. “As wonderful and special as the Christmas season is, it can also be a hectic time of preparation, planning, coordinating, and not taking enough time to regroup and unwind.

“This session will be the perfect way to enjoy some Christmas music, take some time to relax and stretch, and maybe even have a warm cup of hot cocoa,” McClain added.

Participants are welcome to come as a family, grab some friends for a night of yoga together, or just make this quiet “me time” alone. A limited number of mats are available for use, although participants may bring their own.

The YWCA of Van Wert County has a state-of-the-art fitness studio that houses fitness classes, a coed 24-hour fitness center, and locker room use for all fitness partners. Stop in for a tour or email McClain with any questions.
