L’view Career Fair

Lincolnview High School held its second Career Fair on Thursday, with 33 businesses and organizations providing information to juniors and seniors, who have to select 6-8 businesses to visit with to learn more about what they do and their employee needs. Guidance counselor Brenda Leeth said the event had very positive feedback “They’re learning some great soft skills,” she noted. Leeth also said she did a number of lead-up activities prior to the Career Fair, including having Lindy Buzard from Global Precision talk about interview skills, and having a Lincolnview business teacher work with students on resume writing. Leeth also thanked Lincolnview English teachers for letting her come into their classrooms prior to the event. Leeth added that, while students look forward to the event — and learn a lot about local employers — they’re also a little nervous about talking to business people. Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent
