Ohio lieutenant governor to speak here

The Van Wert County Republican Party will host Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor, who will be speaking at the monthly Republican luncheon on Friday, February 16. The event will take place at Elks Lodge 1197, off Van Wert-Decatur Road in Van Wert.

Upon being sworn in as lieutenant governor, Taylor immediately took charge of Ohio’s Common Sense Initiative … a bureau charged with creating a more jobs-friendly regulatory environment. She has also served as the auditor of state and in the Ohio General Assembly and is a current candidate for the Republican nomination to replace John Kasich as governor.

Also joining the luncheon will be 82nd District State Representative Craig Riedel and State Central Committee candidate Christina Muryn.

The program at the Van Wert Elks Lodge will begin at 11:30 a.m. on February 16, with the program to start at noon. Cost of the luncheon is $10, and the public is invited to hear Lt. Gov. Taylor and the other speakers.
