Basketball: Crestview 76 Arlington 36

The Crestview Knights cruised to a 76-36 win over Arlington at Ray Etzler Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Knights lead 19-8 at the end of the first quarter, 39-19 at halftime and 61-27.

As a team, Crestview was 28 of 46 (60 percent) from the floor, 14 of 19 (73 percent) from the free throw line and had 30 rebounds and just five turnovers.

Derek Stout finished with a game high 21 points, Wade Sheets had 14 and Javin Etzler 12. Sheets also had 11 rebounds.

The Red Devils were 12 of 42 (28 percent) from the floor, 9 of 14 from the foul line and had 15 rebounds and seven turnovers.

Crestview (8-3) will travel to Ada on Friday.

Basketball: Miller City 72 Lincolnview 58

Miller City used a big second half to pull away from the visiting Lancers on the way to a 72-58 non-conference victory on Saturday.

The Lancers enjoyed a 33-30 halftime lead, but were outscored 42-25 in the third and fourth quarters.

The loss was Lincolnview’s fourth straight (6-5), while Miller City improved to 6-6.

The Lancers will play at Allen East on Friday, then at Antwerp on Saturday.

Bowling: Cougars split with Defiance

Van Wert bowlers lost a recent tough match against Defiance 2789-2593. High scores of the day were Collin Mosier (200), Nathan Bidlack (193), Ian Ellis (192) and Troy Weaks (189). Also contributing to the team was Steele Stabler.

The junior varsity team defeated Defiance 2084-1870. High score of the day was Zachary Stevens (192). Also contributing to the team were Sam Cassidy, Dante Jones, Max Laney, Nicholas McPhail and Jose Agular.
