Lady Knights down Delphos St. John’s

DELPHOS — Lexi Gregory’s 17 points, including four triples, led Crestview past Delphos St. John’s 51-46 in girls’ non-conference basketball action at Robert Arzen Gymnasium on Saturday night.

The Lady Knights led 16-11 after one quarter and 28-25 at halftime. Both teams scored in single digits in the third quarter, but Crestview held a 34-32 advantage entering the final period.

Crestview (8-6) finished the game 16 of 36 (44 percent) from the floor and 14 of 23 (60 percent) from the foul line. Delphos St. John’s (8-8) was 15 of 46 (32 percent) from the floor and 10 of 13 (76 percent) from the free throw line.

The Lady Knights enjoyed a 23-16 rebounding edge but turned the ball over 23 times, compared to 10 for the Blue Jays.

In addition to Gregory’s 17 points, Paige Motycka hit double digits with 10. Paige Gaynier led Delphos St. John’s with 15 points while Taylor Zuber scored 11.

The Lady Knights will host Van Wert tonight and the Blue Jays will entertain Bath on Tuesday.
