Columbus Grove downs Knights in v-ball

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Crestview Lady Knights varsity volleyball team traveled to Columbus Grove Tuesday night to begin Northwest Conference play. It was definitely a battle, as the match went to the fifth and deciding game. Scores for the first four games of the match were 25-22, 22-25, 27-25, 19-25. In the end, the Lady Bulldogs showed much determination, didn’t back down, and left it all on the court as they defeated the Knights in the final game, 3-15.

Crestview is now 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the NWC. The Knights will be back in action on Thursday as they host Ada in another conference match.

Leading the way for The Lady Knights:

  • Serving — Syd Bowen, 20/20 with 2 aces; Lyvia Black 17/19 with 3 aces
  • Hitting — Lexi Gregory, 14 kills; Maci Baker, 11 kills; Katie McClure. 9 kills
  • Setting — Abby Bagley, 35 assists
  • Digs — Black, 17 digs; Gregory, 14 digs; Bowen and McClure, 11 digs/each
  • Blocks — Baker, McCoy, and Bagley led in blocks

Crestview’s junior varsity team is now 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference after being defeated by Columbus Grove in two games, 21-25 and 22-25.
