Mildred L. Longstreth

Mildred L. “Mid” Longstreth, 92, of Van Wert, passed away at 2:24 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born July 7, 1924, in Middle Point, the daughter of Ray and Hila (Waltz) Baer, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Albert “Abe” Longstreth.

Survivors include five children, Vickie Longstreth Ebel of Van Wert, Deborah (John) Kerbel of Woodville, Douglas (Mary Beth) Longstreth of Lake Forest, California, Kevin (Rhonda) Longstreth of Middle Point, and Jami (Greg) Pontsler of Rockford; two sisters, Joan Neer of Middle Point and Jean Mizner of Kansas City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

An infant son, Randall Longstreth; two brothers, Ronald and Carl Baer; and two sisters, Mary King and Myrna Partin, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at the funeral home.
