Daniel S. Roop

Daniel S. “Dan” Roop, 75, of Celina, passed away at his residence at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

He was born April 7, 1941, the son of George and Sarah (Dull) Roop, who both preceded him in death. On February 7, 1968, he married the former Linda L. Geyer, who survives in Celina.

Other survivors include three sons, Daniel M. (Lisa) Roop of St. Marys, Christopher S. (Melissa) Roop of Convoy, and Anthony (Rene) Roop of Pleasureville, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Sarah Lynn Roop of Phoenix, Arizona; and nine grandchildren.

A brother, David Roop, also preceded him in death.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Tony Richmond officiating. Military honors will be rendered after the service by combined units from American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
