Exhibit prep, upcoming classes

By Hope Wallace

Time is running out to enter our paws de résistance exhibit! You have until March 5 at 5 p.m. to submit your paintings, photographs or sculptures! No late entries will be permitted. All entries will be exhibited and entries will be judged for awards by Jens Svendsen of Bowling Green. Jens has an MFA in Fine Art, a degree in nursing and has been a practicing artist and instructor for many years. Please call or visit our website for complete instructions! Paws de résistance, opening on March 12 is an art exhibit about one of our favorite things in the world, pets. You are invited to bring us your impressions of your furry, feathered, or scaled friends in any media you choose. Even better, you can bring your friendly dog (leashes on and vaccinated please) to the opening reception! Treats will be available for both hooman and friend. An adoption table for the Van Wert County Humane Society will also be present and we’ll feature live music and cash bar.

On April 17, we will open the Annual High School Invitational at 1 p.m. with an opening reception and award presentation. Students will be providing the live music and refreshments will be provided. If your young artist is within a 30-mile radius of Van Wert, please see your high school art instructor for details. Students do NOT currently need to be enrolled in a high school art class.

Do we have art instruction for you!
