Ray B. Davis

Ray B. Davis, 88, of Van Wert, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at his residence.

He was born January 9, 1928, in Van Wert County, the son of Pryse and Georgia (Ashenfelter) Davis, who both preceded him in death. On March 11, 1983, he married Shirley A. Davis, who died April 27, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Mike (Janelle) Davis of Decatur, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Sandy Eversole of Van Wert and Cindy Wamsley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Rose Davis of Decatur; two brothers, Wilfred (Berniece) Davis of Van Wert and Don (Mary) Davis of Dayton; 8 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two children, Randy Davis and Sandra Kay Little; three stepchildren, Rick Jenkins, Chris Spoor, and Greg Jenkins; a sister, Jean Evans; and three stepgrandchildren, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 13, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
