Kevin T. Thatcher

Kevin T. Thatcher, 51, of Middle Point, went to be with our Lord at 1:22 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center after fighting a hard battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

He was born April 26, 1964, to Danny and Phyllis (Wisener) Thatcher, who survive in Middle Point.

Other survivors include his children, Kory Thatcher, Kaylee Thatcher, and Julia Thatcher, all of Van Wert, and Kyle Thatcher of Middle Point; a sister, Melanie (Dennis) Miller of Middle Point; nephews Dustin Miller of Columbus and Austin Miller and Logan Miller, both of Middle Point; a niece, Morgan (Ben) Warnecke of Waynesfield; and his companion, Theresa DuCheney.

Kevin was a lifelong farmer and loved farming for his dad, uncle, and grandparents. He enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends in Michigan and riding his Harley-Davidson across the country. He drove truck for Conrad’s Trucking in Van Wert and later for Landstar Trucking in Florida. He was a 1982 graduate of Lincolnview High School.

Kevin truly loved his family, friends, and life!

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, February 14, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
