Group begins admissions-review process

United Way of Van Wert County is beginning its admissions and review process for 2016.

Agencies seeking funding are welcome to apply. United Way awarded over $300,000 last year to Van Wert County agencies and the local United Way keeps 99 percent of the campaign pledges locally. The 1 percent that is paid out is for state and national dues to be a member of the United Way.

United Way-Van Wert County logoTo be considered for funding, an organization must; be a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, offer human service programs, and have an active volunteer board.

During the months of April and May a committee made up of local volunteers will meet to study the funding requests. This committee will then make its funding recommendations to the United Way Board of Trustees in June. Once approved by the board, agencies are notified of funding decisions.

Any organization wishing to fill out an application should go to the United Way website at unitedwayvanwert.org or contact the United Way office at 419.238.6689.

Applications need to be returned to the United Way office no later than Thursday March 31.
