Leadership.  That’s what the Lincolnview Junior High Student Council has been showing over the past few months of school.  Elected in October after all candidates were given the opportunity to address the junior high student body, the members went to work right away.

They held a Halloween dance In October and encouraged participation in Mix It Up Day.  After brainstorming ideas for the year in November, they made one idea become reality as they raised close to $600 for their Christmas project.  The student council challenged the staff to see who could raise the most money for the project.

The students outdid the staff and, in return, the 12 members had the opportunity to line up and

deliver a pie to the face of a junior high staff member.

Five of the student council members, assisted by two teachers, bought items for eight Lincolnview students in hopes of making a brighter holiday for their families.  The gifts were picked up and the recipients expressed great appreciation. The group will be back to planning for additional events for the rest of the year.

Prior to Friday’s game the Middle Point Lions will hold a Scholarship Benefit with sandwiches being served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
