William E. Hart

William E. Hart of Van Wert passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 4, 1933, the son of Carl and Mildred Hart, who both preceded him in death. On December 20, 1985, he married Carol S. (Stetler) Hart, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three daughters, Jackie Cross of Continental, Brenda (Kevin) Wills of Willshire, and Judith (Jamie) Johnson of Arizona; a son, Steve Hart of Van Wert; one sister, Loraine Agler of Van Wert; a brother, Lawrence (Jeanie) Hart of Middle Point; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A son, Bret Hart; one grandson, Jim Johnson; a sister, Barbara Pollick; and four brothers, Don, John, Bob and Jim Hart, also preceded him in death.

William served in the United States Air Force and Army. He worked in the maintenance department at General Electric Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and listening to Bluegrass music.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 22, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. The Delphos Veterans Council will render military honors following the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling hours are from noon until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
